San Antonio's golden era for basketball ran from 1999-2014, when the Spurs won five NBA Championships led by Hall of Famers David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker and Gregg Popovich. Those championships were magical nights punctuated by the triumphant sound of horns downtown.

Following the San Antonio Spurs ' 111-109 win over the Thunder in the 2025 NBA Cup West Semifinals in Las Vegas, silver and black fans showed up in downtown San Antonio to do something they have not done in years: Celebrate a big team win honking down Commerce Street.

Fifty members of the San Antonio Spurs supporters group, known as the Jackals, were flown to Las Vegas by the team ahead of the NBA Cup Championship.

Spurs fans' watch-party options for Tuesday's NBA Cup Finals matchup includes the team's official event at The Rock at La Cantera and several local bars.

A group of San Antonio's loudest, rowdiest supporters will be on hand to help cheer them on in Tuesday's marquee matchup against the New York Knicks.

“Victor Wembanyama bought flights and tickets for a group of 50 Spurs superfans called the Jackals to tonight’s Spurs-Knicks NBA Cup Championship game,” reported Azarly on X. “Wemby also had 20 fans out for the Spurs-Thunder semifinal game.”

The NBA Cup was supposed to be a midseason curiosity, a made-for-TV experiment designed to juice December basketball and give fans something shiny to argue about before Christmas.

The game will be played at a neutral site in Las Vegas, but there's plenty of places here in the San Antonio area where watch parties will be hosted.
