Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks (9-16) are back home after losing to the OKC Thunder to take on the Brooklyn Nets (6-17).

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Tuesday that they're open to trading a few veterans, including Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell, Klay Thompson, and Daniel Gafford. NBA insider Jake Fischer then took it one step further and revealed a team that could be interested in one of those veterans.

While the Nets, Jazz, Wizards and Hornets all purposefully tanked last season, and the latter three had the best odds to win, the pingpong balls chose Dallas. They didn’t aim to tank yet still won

According to NBA insider Chris Mannix of SI, the Dallas Mavericks don’t want to trade Kyrie Irving because of Cooper Flagg. The Mavericks believe Flagg needs to play with an elite point guard to develop the right way.

The Mavs look strong, beating some quality opponents, and that has affected their placement in NBA.com writer John Schuhmann's power rankings. The Mavs are at #19 after being at #21 last week, resulting in a two-spot jump.
