A bunch of Aang's attacks even from early on in the show hit harder than a pistol bullet, so focusing too hard on "bulletproof" to handguns or not is a bit of a waste of time. Aang is certainly more skilled in his own martial art than kid Goku initially was, so with Avatar state, you would need a bit of later kid Goku - early teen Goku.

Honestly I don't think Aang can output enough fire power to deal with the Rumbling. It would probably take all the high tier people in the Avatar universe to actually leave a sizeable dent in the Titans' numbers. Round 2 seems a little better, but I'm still not sure if Aang can do it.
