"Erika Simon (Eri) Is Ghetto. Always shortening up peoples name. People's name is NOT about her. Show some respect and Act EDUCATED. NO ONE should ever be doing this but she takes it to a nauseating level. Say their name the way THEY introduce themselves, ERI. She acts too entitled and ruins the news casts she appears on. Everyone else is ok but she in particular just ruins it."
KTRK had a woman -- Liz Brandt -- doing the weather, along with Tom Evans. I remember Brandt's gimmick was a weather map drawn on a big pane of clear glass. She stood behind the glass, facing the camera, and drew the "frontal lines", rain showers and temps on the map with a big marks-alot.

Maybe I've been around too long but I was wondering whatever happened to these folks from the "old days" of Houston TV. Especially when we only had the Big Three KPRC, KGUL/KHOU and KTRK. Savage, Flaherity, Conaway, Ennis, Lasher and others I know have gone to the great transmitter in the sky but...
A contest gave her a name -- Kitirik -- by putting i's between the station's call letters, KTRK. Then came a studio audience, and the bleachers were filled with excited kids on live TV. But the carousel was the biggest thrill, reserved for kids having birthdays. Carl McReight clearly remembers his ride on the carousel -- his fifth birthday, in ...
Who did the voices for KTRK-TV for this one: And this one, there are two different ones (the one who says it is tonight's rebroadcast and the other who says 13 Eyewitness News is close captioned): The other one, two different ones (the one who announces about the Marathon and the KTRK information...
KTRK's current music package has been in use for 26 years! This of course makes me think they should hang on to and polish it rather than toss it. Having a recognizable brand that people associate with trust and longevity you'd think would be desirable nowadays. Like people like nostalgic hometown stuff, they like Whataburger's branding for ...
